It is based on the ancient Hermetic and Pythagorean arrangement of the Solar system and the order of the spheres in the Qabalistic Tree of Life. It is a completed version of the Golden Dawn's Middle Pillar exercise. This book features ancient Canaanite god and goddess forms along with Biblical angels in connection with the spheres or chakras and is a fully illustrated training manual for those who wish to practice the system.

Editorial Reviews

Hermetic Yoga, Beyond the Middle Pillar, Volume One, might be called Tantric Yoga for the West. Or fill in the blanks on the Middle Pillar. Poke Runyon is convinced that this system, like his recovery of the facial-reflection method for magical evocation, is another lost secret of Renaissance magick. He cites authorities from Pythagoras, Jacob Boehme, Johann Gichtel, Manly Hall, and Rudolph von Subottendorff to back up his thesis, and gives credit to his mentor Frederick C. Adams and his colleague Michael Johnson for their contributions. He also cites his training with the Tibetan Sakya Order under Luding Khen Rinpoche as valuable to the work. Runyon has illustrated the book with Icons and Mandalas in color making the process easier to visualize and understand. He has also included a facsimile of the first publication of the system from The Seventh Ray in 1977, so we can see how it has developed over thirty years. --The Hermetic Hour -- blogtalkradio
